Does not request from a stranger( policeman) to save him, just becauses he pays him a salary.
Understands & accepts the duty for self defence.
Whether he favours guns or not, accepts a system where everyone is free to make his choice.

3) Believes in capitalism,low taxes,small gov sector,no welfare-nanny state.

In short a true American is...

Strong on justice,
Energetic in self defense,
faithful to capitalism, albeit critical to its shortcomings, because it is such a better system than socialism..

In one phrase,a true American is the full opposite of a true European...
Well obviously, by your definition, you are not a true american. You spelled favor...favour. That is the correct way to spell it...in Europe. The only place that favor is spelled favour is in the english speaking parts of Europe. So if a true american is the opposite of European you must not be a true american.

Source?
Catherine Drinker Bowen; "Miracle at Philadelphia; The Story of the Constitutional Convention May to September 1797", Back Bay Books (1966)

Richard Beeman; "Plain, Honest Men: The Making of the American Constitution", Random House (2009).

When you get finished with those, we can move on to the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers.

Thanks.
There's a lot of these so called "Pro Americans" out there these days....

I'm just pointing out that you don't have to be born here to be an American.

Personally,I have been pro Amer all my adult life.
Now,it is time for me to join the Amer nation, not just emigrate.
There are 3rd Gen "Americans" who are antiamerican.
Also, there are immigrants who become more American than many...
That's why I favOr a constitutional amendment to allow non born in USA citizens, like Arnold the Great, to become Presidents...

Lightbulb What defines a true American?

You're not a real American unless Glen Beck says you are.
