Taking the private jet to Copenhagen - Times Online

Quote:
Individual insurance premiums would increase by an average of 10 percent or more, according to an analysis of the Senate healthcare bill.

The long-awaited report by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) also concluded that subsidies provided by the legislation would make coverage cheaper for those who qualify.
So, the vast majority of those WITH HC insurance will see their premiums rise...to pay for those without HC insurance.

We knew this, didn't we?

http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/107xx/doc...0-Premiums.pdf

Quote:
Nongroup Policies CBO and JCT estimate that the average premium per person covered (including dependents) for new nongroup policies would be about 10 percent to 13 percent higher in 2016 than the average premium for nongroup coverage in that same year under current law.
Quote:
The legislation would have much smaller effects on premiums for employment-based coverage, which would account for about five-sixths of the total health insurance market. In the small group market, which is defined in this analysis as consisting of employers with 50 or fewer workers, CBO and JCT estimate that the change in the average premium per person resulting from the legislation could range from an increase of 1 percent to a reduction of 2 percent in 2016 (relative to current law)
So much for reform, if I'm reading this right it will have no effect on the costs for most people and will raise rates for some comparing it to current projections.

You can't even beleive the CBO numbers because they are based on a bunch of creative book keeping by the bill writers in the first place.

You have got to be one of the most misinformed posters in the history of City Data.

Not only can you not post a link correctly. You can't seem to understand that "individual insurance premiums" only cover 14 million Americans.

There are 300 Million Americans! How is 14 million the "Vast Majority"....LOL

Another lame fail by Sanrene.

Your link talks about Green summit in Copenhagen not insurance premiums.

The vase majority of those WITH hc insurance will have their premiums rise, to subsidize those that can't afford the newer, better, expanded coverage.

Link in OP incorrect. Here's the right one;

CBO: Senate bill would increase individual insurance premiums - TheHill.com
