So the original temp data from the CRU was thrown out. Who else has independent data of worldwide temps that is as signficant as CRU's? Does NASA, NOAA, or any other organizations have the data? Or their own independent data that is as comprehensive?

The way it is shaking out I wouldn't trust NASA either.

These charlatans caused the death of science and after watching what what on with all these so called "experts" how can we possibly believe anything that spews forth from their mouths?

The state of California spent billions on policy that appears to be based on a pile of manure.

There are 2 other sets. Both American based. I think but can’t remember off the top of my head that NASA is one of them and the other is based at an Alabama university.

However, the problem with these data sets is similar to the problems with the CRU data sets.

Over the last 20 years, the number of data collection stations has dropped by 60% and all of the collection stations in rural areas have been dropped.

That builds in a warm bias because Urban Heat Island Effect skews the data. There simply is no data set that can be relied on.

I would also point out that NASA's last report which indicated warming eliminated all Satellite readings because those readings indicated cooling.

Hansen (an AGW activist who has been arrested protesting) is a leading NASA scientist.

I read that too somewhere so all they have left is the urban areas which are heat prone to begin with. IMHO rural areas would provide better "actual" temps. I'm outside the city limits and it's always several degrees cooler then city reported temps..even in the summer.

Not just your opinion. it is a simple fact.

Cities make up a very small amount of the land mass and even in cities, you have varibility depending on how close to a structure you are.

the temp next to a brick building will be much warmer than 10 feet away.

a lot of these data collection stations are right next to buildings. some have been documented as being right next to exhaust vents!

Yup..I have a brick house (4 sides brick) and in the summer, even after sundown you can still feel the heat radiating from the brick if you put your hand up to it.
