My impression is that he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. So in a way, this doesn't surprise me.

totally agree. if baucus wants to support his girlfriend, he can use his own money, not the taxpayers'.

After reading the spin from his "associates", the only thing I expect to hear him say is "Oops". Never to admit any questionable behavior.
