The economy was even worse a year ago. Did you fuss this much about the Bushies Xmas at the White House?

Right, Correct.
Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't.
You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

WikiAnswers - Who said you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time

are you saying that the money spent on decorating the WH should be given to people who are out of work? That sounds a little like welfare.

Probably not, but hey, there weren't any homeless people then either. Or, were there?

What I think is funny, is that the same people who said that a Christmas tree should not be in public schools are now saying how it is completely acceptable to have one on public display at the WH. Which is it? Are Xmas trees allowed in public places or not?

Because Obama did it?

Do you not see the hypocrisy in yourselves?

I don't object to the WH being decorated and other religions being represented. I think it's lovely, no matter which federal or state property is involved - schools, state buildings, federal buldings and grounds - you name it. I don't object like some people do. It's NOT an endorsement of any one religion, or denomination, or faith. People are still free to choose as they wish.

#1 - Why use "as far as you know" when it's so easy to know for sure. Of course, if you're looking to dis the POTUS, facts just might get in your way.

#2 - I have celebrated Christmas my whole life. My house has a Christmas tree and we buy Christmas presents. I say Merry Christmas to those for whom I know it is appropriate - it's Happy Holidays for everyone else. I have no problem with others telling me to have a Merry Christmas, even though I have not believed in Christianity for many years.

My problem is with all of you who continue to push this contrived "war on Christmas" by insisting that if we don't do it your way, we are trying to do away with Christmas all together, which is, of course, a huge load of crap.

Which, of course, it is not - It's real, insidious and persistent.

I am a liberal and a Christian. Show me one post where I have 'attacked' Christianity.

I'll listen to you about this as soon as you post the eight letters you sent Bush protesting his White House Christmas observances.
