The U.A.E., the fourth-biggest producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, is turning to nuclear power to meet growing electricity demand as the country’s growing infrastructure uses up domestic natural-gas supplies. Power demand will double to 40,000 megawatts by 2020, according to Anwar Gargash, minister of state for foreign affairs.

Now one of the arguments against Iran developing nuclear power is that they don't need it with all the oil reserves they have. Yet not a peep about this.

I guess for now and as long as they play our ball, they are ok, but whoa is he who doesn't, as then we know the next target after Iran.

The UAE is an ally and has not made threats to wipe Israel off the map.

Since nuclear power is a relatively "clean" energy sourse, you should be applauding this and hoping that obama gets smart and starts us down that road.

I mean, if the friggin French can do it, the US certainly can.

There is a huge difference between using nuclear power for peaceful purposes and to meet energy needs and weaponising nuclear power. Iran has shown no interest in using nuclear power for energy, or they would have agreed to have the Russians enrich their plutonium for them. They turned that deal down. They want higher grade plutonium, whose sole purpose and use is for making nuclear warheads... not for peaceful energy production. Sorry but your theory holds no water.
