You know, it could be the girls that were photoshopped onto the picture. Who cares and it was widely known that JFK loved women. Even Jackie Kennedy was aware of his escapades. As if this is something that contoversial...TMJ is desperate for a story I guess.

[quote=CAVA1990;12195926]I'm not questioning your account of what actually happened and I agree it was handled very well. I just don't agree that you can make the statement that it would have turned out differently if JFK hadn't been the one calling the shots. That we'll never know for sure and so does qualify as speculation.[/quot

Bologna. Nixon escalated the war in Vietnam, while Kennedy had introduced a bill to begin withdrawal of the 1600 American "advisors" there. On Oct.11, 1963 Kennedy signed a presidential order for an initial withdrawal of 1,000 American troops from Vietnam by the end of that year. JFK and Robert Kennedy had visited there in 1951 and had seen the quagmire in which the French were ensnared; he had no intention of following their path. Nixon, on the other hand, was more than willing to take his orders from the Joint Chiefs and CIA. His actions as president seem to indicate what course he would have taken had he been elected in 1960.

The picture is not dated. The man in the photo may or may not be JFK.

TMZ thinks the picture might have been taken in the mid-50's. It could have been taken earlier.

The Kennedy family was a boating family, there is no indication of where the photo was taken. TMZ's surmise that it was taken in 1957 on a Mediterranean cruise is just that, a surmise, it has no foundation, no factual support.

So would the picture have changed history? Doubtful.

Them is words of speculation. Perhaps you don't understand the definition of that word.

Nixon escalated when finally elected; that is a good indication of how he would have had he been elected in '60. Quite different from making assumptions without the basis of facts to underscore its
legitimacy. Nuance can be important.

Yes, and because of that he wouldn't have let the situation get to the point that it did.

Right...he would have given the Joint Chiefs permission to use nuclear weapons. What a dumb thug he was.

Wouldn't have needed to. The sites would have been destroyed by conventional bombs and commandos long before the Soviet missiles were ready.

I don't recall Nixon using nukes in SE Asia.
