The reason he is right, is because someone that is black, brought it to his attention and how they hate that term being use for them.

let me ask you something, how many generations do we need to go back to say that is where your ancestry comes from? It seems that alot of people want to cherry pick which generation we go back to. If you want to get technical, every human on the planet is from Africa so are we all African-American?
I think maybe you should have included the whole Think Progress bit to make it more obvious that they weren't doing to Beck what you wanted to do to him. I detest the term African-American as much as he does. Anybody who was born in the US is an American and using that term is sick to me. We are all Americans which I think is what Beck was saying. Now that other word is one that was used until it became nearly illegal because of the word spun off from it.
I think I will jump over to my Beck newsletter to get the real transcript of the show and not depend on a Beck hater for his words.

How about if all of you allow blacks to define themselves rather than telling them what they should be called. (I'm assuming the majority of posters here are white.)
