Good or bad? Even though I despise Islam and all, I do not think that they should ban the veil. It doesn't harm anyone. If a woman chooses to be covered, then let her. And what if she is cold? For real? Will they ban scarfs too?

They are their own country and can do as they please, it seems to be an internal matter for the french,
Wondering that Sarkozy is supporting this. He's actually far left.
I'm Atheist and couldn't care less about religion.
Btw, it's not always about religion. Europeans consider it a human rights abuse ( sometimes) when the women are basically forced by their religion to wear this.
Right on but at the same time, imagine if it was happening in the US.
Would you support it?
Even though I do not like it, I would not support it in the least.
The United States is a country that was founded on religious freedom. It would not be appropriate in the US to restrict religious expression in such a way.
France is not. If France thinks it's abuse of women, or if they think it's insulting to their own culture, then it's their prerogative.
It's about time European countries begin thinking about the preservation of their way of life and culture, just like every other country in the world.
