France moves closer to banning full Muslim veil - Yahoo! News

Good or bad? Even though I despise Islam and all, I do not think that they should ban the veil. It doesn't harm anyone. If a woman chooses to be covered, then let her. And what if she is cold? For real? Will they ban scarfs too?

Right on but at the same time, imagine if it was happening in the US.

Would you support it?

Even though I do not like it, I would not support it in the least.

Wondering that Sarkozy is supporting this. He's actually far left.
I'm Atheist and couldn't care less about religion.

Btw, it's not always about religion. Europeans consider it a human rights abuse ( sometimes) when the women are basically forced by their religion to wear this.

Huh? First no yelling at your spouse now this. What if I cover my face with a scarf because it is cold out?

How will the terrorist and French loving liberals reconcile with this?
Poor things, such choices.

To support it here I would have to have a security reason. For instance a woman Suicide Bomber hiding explosives in her veil.

I can see it now if this happens. It will be open season for terrorist attacks.

The United States is a country that was founded on religious freedom. It would not be appropriate in the US to restrict religious expression in such a way.

France is not. If France thinks it's abuse of women, or if they think it's insulting to their own culture, then it's their prerogative.

It's about time European countries begin thinking about the preservation of their way of life and culture, just like every other country in the world.
