It does not help her chances on election day in MA, that Coakley thinks Boston Red Sox legend Curt Schilling is a Yankee fan?? Then coming back to justify her comments by saying he's a Yankee fan because he is not on the Red Sox team anymore????
Dan Rea: “By the way, you had Bill Clinton in today…”
Ms. Coakley: “Yes, I did, we did.”
Dan Rea: “Barack Obama in Sunday…”
Ms. Coakley: “Correct.”
Dan Rea: “Umm, would Barack Obama be in it if this thing was not this close?”
Ms. Coakley: “Umm, it’s hard to know. I think that he, uh, is welcome in Massachusetts, I’m sure everyone’s happy to see a president…”
Dan Rea: 62-36
Ms. Coakley: “…and besides if it were not so close Rudy Giuliani wouldn’t have come in either. Besides, he’s a Yankee’s fan, I just want people to know.”
Dan Rea: “Yeah, but now Scott Brown has Curt Schilling, OK? (chuckles)’’
Ms. Coakley: “And another Yankee fan.’’
Dan Rea:“Schilling?’’
Ms. Coakley:“Yes!’’
Dan Rea: “Curt Schilling a Yankee fan?’’
Ms. Coakley: “No.”
Dan Rea: “Curt Schilling…??”
Ms. Coakley: Alright, I’m wrong on my… I’m wrong,’’

But never, and I mean never, could anyone ever make the mistake of calling me a Yankee fan. Well, check that, if you didn’t know what the hell is going on in your own state maybe you could….
Well fine, Schilling isn't a Yankee fan. And Schilling is still a loudmouthed moron.
Who cares?
"Who cares?" Maybe the democrats, republicans and independents who are Boston Red Sox fans?
It was Coakley that brought baseball into this by trying to slam Brown for being endorsed by Rudy, because Rudy was a Yankees fan. All she ended up doing was proving she is an idiot who knows nothing about the state's favorite sports team.
Ms. Coakley: “…and besides if it were not so close Rudy Giuliani wouldn’t have come in either. Besides, he’s a Yankee’s fan, I just want people to know.”
If the Yankees ever made Schilling an offer, he'd not only be a Yankee fan, but a Yankee. (See: Wade Boggs, Johnny Damon, Roger Clemens, et. al.)
The only baseball player I can think of that hates the Yankees enough that he never would have played for them is Mike Piazza. Many other Mets (Strawberry, Gooden) and Red Sox greats went on to play for the Yankees.
