Pgh, we have thousands of troops/workers in Haiti, not the hundreds you keep saying. This was yesterday and more and more are incoming. I will also post this one more time:
Bush, who congratulated Obama for his "swift and timely response to the disaster," said he was pleased to work with Clinton "to mobilize the compassion of the American people."
Once again, it was quoted from CNN.
Now hush.
We have thousands of volunteers unrelated to the government, but there are only hundreds of military personnel on land who were primarily there before the incident.
2,000 Marines left NC today, and there will be a total of up to 10,000 eventually.
Private churches, red cross, other volunteers seem to be able to get to Haiti, but the government with their own planes, boats, helicopters, and unlimited budgets cant seem to organize relief..

Really? Please do supply a list of which helicopters can fly 600 miles non-stop while carrying enough payload to make that journey worthwhile.
From what i can gather from various sources, the US has supplied more aid than any other country in money as well as physical aid. Not too bad considering our economic recession. This is from various sites...if you disagree, show me otherwise.

The US Government owns several hundred C130J cargo planes with a range that they could travel from Miami to Haiti, to Miami and back to Haiti without refuling. its kinda what they are built for..
Lets add in other ones like the IL76, A4000M, (which could make about 6 trips without refuling), the C27J, the An12, AN22, AN72, C141, Y9, or even the An225 etc.. You get the picture..
lets also ignore the fact that Cuba is allowing use of their runways and we do indeed have a military base pretty dam close by called Guantanamo Bay..

Someone wants to bring up the asinine comparison of Bush/Katrina to Obama/Haiti and make a statement aboutr the US acting without being asked you're damn right Iraq enters the playing field!
How about let's talk about how long before the occurence Katrina was forecast vs. how long before the occurence the earthquake was forecast and relative reaction times to those forecast times? Or would that be too far away from the apples/oranges fruit salad comparison the NeoConfuseds seem to enjoy so much?

Then maybe i'm mis-informed. Do you want to list some of the aid we have ALREADY provided. Not what is promised but what we have already given.

I posted in response to your statement: "ever hear of a helicopter? Hait is only 600 miles from Miami"
Get a clue! Or do you purposely choose to act blissfully ignorant of your own statement?
Oh wait, I don't believe you're acting..................................

The president does not need to be ASKED to get involved with international affairs. ITS HIS JOB. You may not agree with what they do, but that doesnt mean its NOT HIS JOB.
The forecast is a valid point, (Iraq isnt and previous posting tosd for off topic).. Indeed Bush had time to organize whereas Obama didnt. But that doesnt stop Liberals from proclaiming Bush hates black people because he didnt get people there fast enough while making every excuse in the book for Obama who is now just getting people on the ground, 5 days after it took place.
Where is all the liberal outrage for the lack of support? Does Obama care less than Bush did for "black people" Yeah, obserd, but that didnt stop you liberals from making similar statements towards Bush.. WHY?
Get real.
What's funny is that we've got some people criticizing Obama for pledging "too much" to Haiti, and then those same people turn around and yell, "He's not doing enough!"
