After everthing Barak has done for our country, don't you think we can make an exception?
You mean the law should not equally apply to the relatives of public servants, elected or otherwise?
Everything he has done? Get real.
Yes, as you said, she'll likely get the full Chicago pardon (disappear quietly?). However, I suspect Obama is waiting to see how he can politically benefit from the whole situation his "Auntie" has gotten herself into and use it in his "amnesty for illegals" argument. "Never waste a crisis" says Rahmbo.
I dont remember seeing any outcry when John Demjanjuk came to live off the rights of all those dead GI's in WWII.
The deported ex Nazi prison gaurd spit in the faces of all those Vets...and no outcry from America.
I was much too young to be politically aware at that time. Not even out of high school. So, perhaps that was the responsibility of your generation since it happend during your generation's watch?
I agree there she probably isn't be treated that "different" since may people are here under the same circumstances...which is why so many people moan and complain. If folks actually left the USA when they were supposed to there wouldn't be a problem would there?
I too am interested in how the judge will see her situation. It is unique, and to say it doesn't make a difference is kind of silly.

So, I'll pose the same question: Do you think the laws should not equally apply to the family members of public servants, elected or otherwise?

Not that you directed the question to me, but I'll answer anyways.
She should be treated like the law breaking common criminal that she is. I will be disgusted if I find out that she was given special treatment in any sort of way, simply because of her familial ties. Give her a one way ticket right back to Kenya and never let her in this country again. Barry can go visit her there if he so chooses.
Of course they shouldn't! I agreee with LifelongMOgal, when da prez can figure an angle to make himself look good...he'll pounce on it.
