domestic energy resources have cost the US. For years, the democrats have said NO to off-shore drilling, NO to nuclear power, NO to drilling in ANWR, NO to extracting Colorado shale and just recently, NO to Utah oil and gas leases.

They have forced our dependence on foreign sources of oil, putting us at risk to the whims of dictators and tyrants. They are truly crippling this nation with their dangerous, liberal policies. Instead of sending our hard-earned billions to places like Brazil to develop their oil reserves, we should be spending time and money on developing our own. Can you imagine the high paying jobs would be available?

Drilling Bans to Cost U.S. $2.36 Trillion, Industry Study Says - Bloomberg.com

Quote:
The report, issued today, said opening the areas would free up 43 billion barrels of oil and 286 trillion cubic feet of gas. The U.S. used 22.8 trillion cubic feet of gas and 5.2 billion barrels of oil in 2009, according to a press release issued with the report.

Annual average natural-gas prices will increase by 17 percent by 2030 and electricity prices will rise by 5 percent if U.S. policy makers don’t open access to off-limit areas, the report forecast. That would cut the gross domestic product by $2.36 trillion cumulatively through 2029, or 0.52 percent annually on average, according to the report.

If we were allowed to drill for our own oil and gas, not only would it create tens of thousands of jobs, but we could prob get all the oil we need from domestic sources, and imports from Canada and Mexico.

Why didn't Republicans approve more drilling when they were in control of Congress and the White House?

Start your own thread, this thread isnt about republicans..

its pretty sad when the Democratic defense for incompetence and failure is "look at them"..

btw, did you miss the link from jojan, which indeed was one such program during the Republican control to boost loans for Nuclear power Plans?

This is something I will be glad if the GOP successfully obstructs.

If we're going spend money on nuclear, then let it be nuclear fusion.

Go Just Say No Crew, Go.
