And the hits to the IPCC just keep on coming, justifiably so.

Climate scientists withdraw journal claims of rising sea levels | Environment | guardian.co.uk

Quote:
Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings.

The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

In a statement the authors of the paper said: "Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work.
Who could have imagined the hoax of the century would unravel so soon after Climategate?

I think the only people that believe in global warming are Al Gore and some politicians in DC.

Once in a while I will read some newspapers form Australia and Europe. Seems like the last year or so no one in those places belive this garbage anymore.

It's about as valid as the hole in the ozone and acid rain. Lies.

OMG..what will Al Gore use now to produce fear ?
Wasn't he warning that states would be wiped out by rising waters within a few years ?

My, my what an inconvenient truth to find out the truth

Al Gore’s movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ says sea levels could rise up to 20 feet. Is this true? » Scienceline

That's not quite like a withdrawl, then, is it?

Huh ? Did you read the article ? How do you think science works ..by political affiliation ?

It is a withdrawal and retraction. If they cannot prove either way then they cannot prove..period. Hence..the theory is blown and invalid.

What they need to do is gather VALID data and go back to step 1 of the scientific process.

Sea level HAS been rising the last 100 years. Even if it continues on it's current trend, it WILL continue to rise. The arguments are how much it will rise, not IF it will.

I was replying to the implied "it was not a total withdrawal".

I'm not going to debate whether or not it's rising.
If they had to retract their claim then they need to go back and follow the scientifc process to come up with another claim.

They invalidated their theory themselves. But that is how science works, isn't it ?

Pardon me, but the AUTHOR of the claim, that was in the IPCC report, has WITHDRAWN his OWN paper and the claim.
