Anyone else embarrassed on how much importance religion plays in our government especially when it comes to our congressmen on state/federal level. These religious nuts on the right really hurt the Republicans in getting elected. I'll take more taxes, enviromental regulations, and big spending government rather than vote for right wing religious nuts trying to institute a christian theocracy in our country.

I do believe they were making a point about the fact that she has a disabled child. The logic of the legislator from the OP, applied to Palin, would mean that she was punished with Flip, Trick, or whatever her youngest child's name is because she aborted her first born.

They say this stuff until they have a handicapped kid themselves. The Amish believe God gives them handicapped kids to teach them about love. A better theology, if you ask me.

An unfortunate comment made at the expense of those who are born disabled, the majority of Christains, and the majority of Republicans, all to make a political statement. I guess there's no limit to how low a politican will go.

What an A##H#%#!!!

and for those who want to claim comments like this represent the Republican party are off base and narrow minded. The majority do not believe such things, nor to the majority of Christians.

I am sickened. I am almost 100 percent convinced that those who are this religious have some sort of mental disease. In all honesty. Not saying ALL but some. It has to be. There is no other explanation for the stupidity. No one in their right mind would say it.

Palin's comments. Palin slammed Rahm Emmanuel for using the word retarded, said no one should ever use it and demanded he be fired or resign. Shortly after those comments Rush Limbaugh used the same term numerous times. Palin, who just slammed Emmanuel on it was quiet and didn't say anything about Limbaugh's comments, then when asked about it said Palin his comments were ok because they were satire.
