WHY do we still have credit card balances?

Where did it say in TARP, that banks would forgive credit card balances.

The bailouts were to soften the losses from bad mortgage-backed securities.

Actually, I would have liked to get that money in a check, (I think it was estimated at anywhere from 6,000 - 13,000 per taxpayer) That money could have gone to pay off my cc debit.

With all the various bailouts combined, I believe it's closer to several hundred thousand dollars per citizen, if it were given out to the people instead of the banksters...

The bank bailout where actauly just laonsd which many have paid out. The second half of TARP was supposed ;to be as passed by congress; ot get the toxic assets figured out because no one knew good from bad loans in those bundles. But the private ;governamnt partnership to do this collapse ebecause priovate investros decided they didn't want governamnt as partners.

You know the government is never going to bail us out. But the way I see it, the government inadvertently did do us a favor by bailing out the banks. It gave us a good excuse to bail ourselves out. The banks got our tax dollars courtesy of the government so I keep the would be payments for myself. Now the monthly amount that would go to paying my credit card payment stays with me. I can live with that.
