Isn't Obama actually contributing to higher healthcare costs by smoking cigarettes? Not only to him...but to others with secondhand smoke?

To me, it's akin to someone addicted to alcohol heading a campaign against drunk driving. Or an overweight person leading a campaign against diabetes.

Seems like a major PR problem to me.

Kinda like a law requiring warning labels on cigarettes made by lawmakers who continue to accept $$$ from the tobacco lobby, eh?

If this is the case, how is he setting a good example. Our Spoksman for National HealthCare Reform has every right to be a smoker, but what kind of message is he then sending our public. We do all know the repercussions of secondhand smoke these days.

What a ridiculous thread.

Reminds me of what somebody said to me once - I'm a smoker too.

"Why do you eat whole wheat bread when you smoke?"

Ai, yi, yi!

I don't object to those saying NO from a standpoint of reason and knowledge but MOST are saying "NO" just to say "NO" and making stuff up to justify the "NO".

Should our spokesman for National Healthcare Reform...be a smoker???

By all means... YES ! ! ! It's reflective of the product being endorsed.

Huff and Puff and nothing but smoke.

Heck, the guy doesn't even need a mirror.

He can smoke, fart, belch, drink or chew, or even eat red meat, its a free country. But it is a bit ironic, that people like 0bama would set about punishing people for drinking, smoking, or eating red meat, if they ever got their UHC.

Considering the fact that smoking related illnesses cost America 157 billion dollars per year (American Cancer Society), yes.
