And out of absolute naviete I am going to ask: why would the doctors find better pay or lifestyle in Costa Rica and Canada?
Let them leave. Do you think for one second that the job market would leave that large a gaping hole unattended? Of course, people would take their places. If the current crop of doctors leave, they leave because they're greedy bastards, not because they care to help people. The current health care establishment in this country is entirely PROFIT-driven. Drugs are manufactured before a market for them can be developed. Diseases are invented to then provide a market for the drug. The FDA pushes through untested drugs so big Pharma can get its pound of flesh. Insurance companies don't care whether you live or die. I'd rather take the unknown road then continue down this road to hell.
