CBO might be very good in counting the numbers but when they are asked a questions they just answer the question regardless of the it is reflecting the issue completely.

This is happening for both sides...when Dem. ask a partisan question they will get the numbers that they like. When Rep. ask a partisan question they will get the same nice answer that will help them...

But what about what is really important for the whole nation in the long run.

The Dem. got their partisan CBO numbers last week which caused the health care bill to be signed...nice for them but the country will loose out in the long run and to me it is very bad for both sides if the people who work in Washington for us are just listening to the numbers they like.

The CBO is the magic calculator for the government. It's gamed for the false sense of confidence used to pass spending bills.

This probably sits on the desk of every CBO employee

The CBO overestimated the cost of the bank bailout and the CBO overestimated the cost of the 2009 Federal budget deficit.

Since the wingers don't like the Health Care Bill they are saying the CBO estimate is rigged.

That's all this thread is................Sour grapes.

CBO scored the cost of the original medicare bill at something like a couple billion. It exceeded that by a factor of several hundred fold.

Hang in there, Pad. It won't take too long for us to see that this unconstitutional bill passed in an unconstitutional manner has been nothing but the road to single payer which amounts to government control of all things health related.

Sour grapes are to my liking but then I must have something wrong with me because I refuse to accept unconstitutionally passed unconstitutional bills.

Do you know that the Constitution requires that a bill be in the same form from each house before they send it to the President for signature and that the House version of the Senate bill contained a bunch of "fixes" that were to be taken care of later. Violations of the Constitution ran rampant through the end of last week, but the Dems are in control of both branches of the government so we have to go along with them as they take another chunk out of the Constitution.

Still based on "projections" though....

Bailouts to cost $106 billion, CBO says - The Hill's On The Money

And the CBO just upped their estimate again by $10 billion based on AIG troubles. This since January.

Oh I forgot about that mistake.

The CBO created in 1975 underestimated the cost of the origninal medicare bill passed in 1965.

You take care of yourself up there OK?..... Bye.

So your problem isn't with the bill, it's with how congress has operated since forever.

I would assume a patriot like yourself with have more faith in the system roy.

If something is unconstitutional then the court will deem it as such. So if for whatever reason, this goes to the supreme court, and they say "it's constituional", I'm assuming you will be all for it.
