Yes or no? Prominent Tea Party speaker doesn't think so. Thoughts?

Good point, I edited and rephrased it to reduce the likelihood of this happening. Their racist rhetoric must be explosed.

At the national tea party convention in February, Tancredo turned heads when he suggested that Obama was elected by "people who could not even spell the word 'vote', or say it in English."
Tancredo then suggested that a civic literacy test--an idea that has been widely disregarded as racist and unconstitutional since the civil rights era--would be positive for the country.
Sure, the 'bagger movement isn't racist.

No more racist that Obama referring to his grandmother as a "typical white person".

Maybe and maybe not. It certainly doesn't come across well. If he thinks that's where Obama is from (which is another issue and several threads), then he might just be saying to send him back home (out of Washington). This wouldn't be unlike people saying that Pailin should just go back to Alaska. It may just mean to go home and leave Washington.

If it was intended along the lines of slaves having been brought over from Africa, then it would fall under the racist category.

Is it racist to tell an Irish man to go back to Ireland? Or how about telling a German to go back to Germany

You do exactly what you say makes the tea party racist. You insult someones of another race for not agreeing with you

Of course it is, and of course he got a good cheer from the lardass "patriots" at the rally. Surprised?
