I think some of his viewpoints are a bit too left leaning to draw in all of the social conservatives. Even with regards to the general public, I don't think the majority are ready for the legalization of marijuana.

You may be right, but I think things are changing for the better for the GOP. Already we've seen candidates like Rand Paul get some good endorsements from Palin and DeMint and BJ Lawson was able to win the party's primary. I think at this point in time, more people are focused on cutting back on government spending and not necessarily focused on social issues. Plus, it seems like the social conservatives are big-time liberal spenders, so their RINO days are numbered anyway.
