I only caught a bit of it on the radio but I heard that Congress is proposing a $23 billion bailout for the teachers union. Has anyone else heard about this?

If it was on the radio it must be true.

Imagine the country's entire teaching force getting less than the bailout of one bank. That kind of money should be reserved for the true money manipulators that truly deserve it to make up for their previous losses. It is really shocking that the teachers should get so much when all they are doing is teaching the children instead of ripping off the parents with phony mortgages.

I found this but it is from a blog and I usually don't put to much stock in blogs.

Obama pushing $23 billion teachers union bailout | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Obama-pushing-23-billion-teachers-union-bailout-93782314.html - broken link)

I have no problem paying the teachers but not the union!

I hadn't heard it, but it sounds plausible. One more way to buy votes.

Stimulous already dumped billiions into schools and the teachers ate it up so now they want more.

Speaking of the teachers union I read earlier that judges in I believe NY want into the union to make more money. Friggen teachers making more than judges. Something wrong here.

I think its safe to rely on an opinion piece that quotes legislators. It appears that unions are about to win again.

For all the Obama voters on this forum, I hope you're part of a union. Because if not, you're standing under the same marquee that us union-hater's are standing under. And it reads: Tax Dollars for Votes: The Life and Times of Master Crony, Barack Obama

You voted for it. I hope you're happy with the rape and pillage of your wallet. Is that the happy ending you were hoping for?

Yes, give billions to the unions. After all the "unions" helped get The Spineless One elected.

Oh yes, I've heard it.

Another bailout for his union buddies.

Wasn't the Failed Stimulus supposed to save these teacher's jobs?

What about the second "jobs" bill?

Public employee (teachers) hiring has increased over the last 10 years, and especially over the last 3-4 years, against all rational fiscal policy. As the states find themselves in deeper mounds of debt, they need to be laying off the fluff that has been hired.

the Failed Stimulus put off for a year the inevitable, at a cost of $1+ trillion taxpayer dollars.
