"On Monday, Obama is scheduled to participate in a Memorial Day ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill."

Why such hatred towards President Lincoln? Perhaps because he freed Black people from slavery?

Obama Skipping Arlington Memorial Day Ceremony for Weekend in Chicago | The FOX Nation

This post title is so misleading. People are upset that he won't be at Arlington to honor the soldiers who gave their life for this country as is standard practice for all U.S. presidents - not that he's going to Lincoln Cemetery. Its where he's NOT going that makes people angry. Just as the fact that he was caught NOT putting his hand over his heart during the National Anthem made people angry. Your post almost seems, dare I say, "Trollish."

I love how the Fox article starts:

"With the long Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, President Obama is finally addressing one of the great broken promises of his administration: his early pledge to return home to Chicago every six weeks or so."

If Obama returned home to Chicago every six weeks, the whining about how much money he's wasting on trips would never end.

He'll be honoring veterans at another national cemetary, why are they upset. The cemetary was dedicted by the US dept. of Veteran Affairs. If he will be honoring veterans at a national cemetary dedicated by Veteran Affairs, why are they offended? Is it because it is named after Lincoln?

There is no mention in any of your links that any concern has been raised about it being because of Lincoln's name. Once again, your post is not supported by your own link.

Did I state that they are angry BECAUSE the cemetary is named after Lincoln, no. All I stated was that they are angry that he is going to a cemetary named after Lincoln, which is true.

Spin spin sugar....

You said this to try to create that impression, which was only substantiated by your own view and had no basis in the article:

Ok, so where do I fit into this mix..................Not a supporter of Obama, absolutely admire Lincoln, am glad that Obama would choose the Lincoln Cemetary to pay tribute to the Fallen,..............Arlington is the TRADITIONAL place for Memorial day ceremony but not always............

Bush Senior celebrated his 1990 Memorial Day golfing in Kennebunkport - with some time off to squeeze in a speech at the town square.

In 2001 Bush Junior attended the Fighter Aircraft Museum in Mesa, Arizona - not even a cemetary.
