Hugh Hewitt: Obama's 2 percent solution for the Louisiana oil spill crisis | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columns/Obama_s-2-percent-solution-for-the-Louisiana-oil-spill-crisis-95266834.html - broken link)
Quote:
Outrageous but consistent with a president practicing policy-by-paralysis. Obama is so afraid of doing the wrong thing, he isn't doing anything except retailing stories of his daughter's concern over the disaster.
Which is one very powerful reason why Team Obama may be dragging its collective feet: They aren't afraid it won't work. They are scared to death it will, and that their incompetence in authorizing the effort will be as clear as the oceans around the ruptured pipe are dark.
Yep, the calculation by obama is ALWAYS one of - how will this hurt me? How can I shift the blame?
This is really outrageous.
We know the berms work and obama and his team have their fingers up their collective butts.
Every move Obama makes is a calculated political move based on what others tell him to do in any given situation. He is the worst POTUS we have ever had. He makes Jimmy Carter look intelligent.
Sand berms are the least of Louisiana's problems. Frankly this more show than go. Oil on the beach comparatively speaking, isn't the big deal, beach sand can be removed. The big problem for Louisiana are the marshes delta and gulf coast. You can't build sand berms in a marsh.

That's exactly what they're trying to protect by building these berms they want to build.

Uh...yes you can...like in front of the tributary to the marsh. Jindal displayed some pictures of one of the berms they had built - instead of washing into the marsh, the oil stuck on the berm.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reviewed and allowed the 2%. Nothing in the opinion was about why the 2% was approved and the rest not.
No facts. No details. Lots of rhetoric.
Still there is no guarantee that it will work either, so if they went with the full plan and it didn't work, you'd still blame Obama, wouldn't you.
Then you'll just look for another blame Obama opinion (and that's all it is, a opinion by someone who'd rather skip the details to blame you know who) on something else . But thats the only tune you know.
