he's a nutbag like his racist son Rand....the scary thing is that the media has ignored his white supremacist past by and large. If you think Rand is scary wait till you see and hear what his daddy has to say....
Libertarians aren't racist- they can't be, because that contradicts the idea of somebody being an individual.
Racism is collectivist, conformist nonsense; people aren't "blacks" or "whites" or "Christians" or "atheists" or "gays" or "straights". They are individuals with individual rights that are equal to everybody else- no more, no less. If someone has black skin, then they have black skin- they are more than the label "black person". If someone likes to go to bed with people of the same sex, then they like to have sex with someone- they are more than "gay person". If a person follows Christ & the Bible to a T, then they are more than "that crazy Christian".
People are complex and there isn't a one-size-fits-all label. If somebody in town refuses to seat black people, I will personally go out of my way to not patronize that hateful establishment and warn everybody I know about that restaurant so word will spread & they will go bankrupt.
That's the point of libertarianism. But then again, people on both sides will never get this because it doesn't match a pre-packaged agenda- their heads are too filled with biases that they were taught from a young age.
I'm more of a Pat Buchanan type guy but I'd seriously consider supporting Paul if he ever gained any traction because he sure as hell is better than pretty much any other so-called conservative right now.
I really like Ron Paul. I just don't believe in today's day and age the ardent libertarian, strict to the constituion philosophy can work. There is another side to the coin that many people who support this seem to fail to acknowledge...It's easy to beat up on some welfare bum sponging off the gov't when its some crack head making a whopping 20k a year in welfare, but what about all the corporate welfare that our tax dollars pay for? While Paul may be against that, the majority of people calling themselves libertarians, and/or tea partiers/baggers, are perfectly fine with allowing this, meanwhile espousing the 'tough cookies' attitude towards any individual that uses the gov't as a crutch.
^No the majority of tea partiers/libertarians/ron paul supporters are not fine with corporate welfare. That's why they're supporting Ron Paul/libertarians and not the established Republicans.

That may be true, but the loudest voices are the ones railing against any gov't help whatsoever. Where are they when we find out the oil companies are making a small mint off the taxpayers generosity? Where are they when Bush was giving no-bid contracts to Haliburton?
Ron Paul is awesome. I would support him 100% for being President. Although he has the R by his name, he really is not a Republican. I can not stand Republicans for the most part, but he is different, more of a Libertarian IMO.
