There's the Valley Theater, it's 4 bucks. That's in Beaverton.

Is that place out on 99W still open, just west of the 217 freeway? It's called The Joy Cinema, and it's 6 bucks. I think they renovated it a couple years ago.

You can go on movies.yahoo.com and punch in your zip code and choose your favorite theaters. The cheapos are mostly in Portland proper on the east side, there's the Academy, The Bagdad, the Cinemagic, the Laurelhurst, The Avalon, The Roseway and a few others. They're all around $4-5 dollars. Also, there is the Moreland in Sellwood (actually Westmoreland), it went from $5 to $6 recently. Nice old theater, very ornate and comfy, plays first run movies.

If you don't mind taking a little drive, McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove has $3 movies, and $2 Tuesdays. Plus, it's a McMenamins.

McMenamins

Yes, the Joy is still alive and kicking.

If you're in Five Oaks, the fastest way to get to the Lodge would be Hwy 26 or (West Union) to Zion Church Road. It will add miles, but Cornell to Baseline is really, really slow. It's also a much prettier drive than Cornell.

It's about 14 miles or so, depending on where you live in Beaverton, but there's the Cornelius Stadium Cinemas in Cornelius. It's not a discount theater; rather, it plays new releases but it's about $2 cheaper than the other theaters. It's just as nice, and much less crowded. And Bus 57 would drop you off here.
