I'm trying to get a business degree with a focus on marketing. Does anybody know what school would be best? They both seem like two different worlds. The one factor I would say is disregard the ammount of the school's cost because I would be using the GI Bill to pay for enrollment.

Portland State's business school is highly regarded locally. Whatever school you choose be sure to do internships.

I have found where they are regarded in the top 22% or something. I guess Univerisity of Portland has something else they are better at to justify the much higher cost. Thank you yet again you always help me out.

They're a religious school. Not overtly, but enough so that it makes a difference to people.

They also have decent psychology, music and sports programs. And frankly, a pretty nice campus to seal the deal.

My daughter attends University of Portland as a chemistry major. I believe the university is known for its engineering school as well as science and nursing programs.

Also, if you compare them on the US News and World Report site, U of P is a Tier 1 school while Portland State is a Tier 4. It is much more difficult to get in to U of P than Portland State. Having said that, I don't know very much about their business program or how highly regarded it is.

Good luck in making your choice!

Agree, the nursing program is well regarded. I don't know much about their engineering school. Anyone considering engineering needs to consider what kind of engineering they want to study. Materials science, civil and electronics/electrical engineering are different fields of study.

All I can say about Portland State's business school is that their Master's program is tough to get into and back in the day Phil Knight taught there.

U of Portland is a Congregation of Holly Cross school. My daughter attended a Jesuit University and received a great education.

from my understand PSU has top business, engineering and political science schools. as for UoP i dont really know. i dont go there. psu is very liberal but usually friendly. most of the students are in their mid 20s and up. on campus is ok. grocery shopping is expensive is you dont have a car to go to cheaper places.
