Portland vs. Seattle
What the pros and cons of each city and which has the better job market and growth? I am considering each and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Portland is wetter, Seattle is larger and a little more urban and tredy, housingin Portland is more affordable but it appreciates faster in Seattle, it can be a little warmer in the winter in Seattle, personally having been born and raised in Portland and then moving to Seattle, I would say Seattle has more to offer you in the way of income and jobs and things to do, it is also a beautiful city, not that Portland isnt. I love Portland but would prefer to live in Seattle.

Hi Nea1! Could you possibly go into more detail about why you would prefer to live in Seattle? What are the major draws for you? Examples of what are draws for me are the social climate (friendliness, politically liberal), the amount and availability of nature, bike paths, weather (which I very much appreciate your input on). What makes you like Seattle better? I have a friend who moved from Seattle to LA and hated Seattle so it's always interesting to hear differing viewpoints.

Oh I dont know, Seattle has a differnt vibe, fun active, lots of young peple ,career minded, I love the setting as well the sound is amazing, all the islands, downtown was a big shock compared to Portland, so big with so many different little shops kinda like soho, tons of parks and biking and walking all over the area, a little warmer as well, the space needle was alot of fun, lots of water front shopping and walking, the people were veryfriendly especially over coffee!!! Lots of clubs and music scene is big there. I grew up in Portland and spent alot of time in the downtown area, dont get me wrong I love Portland, I just prefer the vibe of Seattle and what it has to offer.

ya know, as much as we go back and forth over the differences, on which is better, and has what to offer, Im 100% with Nea1 here on that they both are better then LA! lol
Always best to go spend some time wandering both places, you wont know which is home for you til you get there. Some places sing for one person, and groan for another. They are awful similar, and we tend to trade people back and forth. I will say though, Seattle definatly has it over Portland with the Space Needle!!! thats a way cool place!!
