What does one do when they've been asked to leave their living space due to loud music - afraid when a background check is done they'll find evidence of "10 day notice for cause termination". How can I convince the next landlord to rent to me? Getting desperate...

You could try searching rent.com (and others) for the worst ratings involving continuos noise. Some places don't care what their tenants do as long as they pay their rent. Perhaps next time you are asked to stop disturbing the peace you will turn your music down rather than up? Good luck...

I guess I don't have much sympathy. A 10-day notice indicates that you've had a couple of chances to turn your music down and remain living where you're at, but you chose to continue causing a problem. It must have been pretty bad for them to have had to take you to court over it.

I'm not sure how you can convince the next landlord to rent to you. All I can say is to try to find a place far enough away from anyone else so that the noise won't be an issue.

Sorry, but because I work at home, this sort of thing really bothers me. If you can't live like an adult, perhaps you should move back in with your parents.

Try using HEADPHONES and better luck next time. I work 3rd shift and have actually shut my neighbors breaker off to get them to quiet down! Sorry, but not much sympathy here, maybe TRY a hostel?

Stay in your own city and find a new rental. Prove you can be a better tenant. Then try moving to another city with a good reference. I don't think anyone in another city would want to take a chance on you with a bad record. I don't know why you think they would.

Bad tenants generally get what they deserve.

Are you listening to music too loudly, or are you part of a "basement band"?

At my last place of residence in the city, the house on the corner across the street had a bunch living in it that had kind of a punk rock band.

The drummer and bass player were the main tenants.
The band as a whole was pretty good, and we didn't mind them too much, but when those two decided to practice on their own, it was pure thundering hell.

We asked them politely several times to keep it down, but just got abuse in return.
They had the knack of never really breaking any noise ordinances, but chose the worst times to annoy everybody, and it seemed like they did it on purpose.
Nobody needs their windows shaking and their guts rumbling at 0800 on a Sunday morning.
They eventually got kicked out and the neighborhood celebrated.

Kids, this is what happens when you don't consider the consequences of your actions, and believe that the world revolves around you.

Ouch, not a lot of sympathy with this group.

Nope. Many of us have had to deal with this issue. None of us would want the OP as a neighbor.
