My husband and I currently rent in the Portland area and are weighing the pros and cons of purchasing a home for our retirement years. I think we would enjoy what appears to be many activities offered in this +55 community. Looking for folks who live/lived in this community for a conversation on your experience in this neighborhood. Feel free to PM me if you prefer to share outside of the public forum.

Thanks!

My mother lived there. She said since she didn't golf, they treated her like a second class citizen. She said she never in her 82 years at the time saw so many snobs in one location.

You should visit the Tigard Senior Center for lunch M-F from 11:30-1:00. Many of the people who use the Center live in King City and would be happy to answer your questions and give you their impressions of the area.

She moved down the road to Sherwood and was very happy there.

Your mother may want to look at Woodburn Estates in Woodburn. I have a relative who has lived there for years and is very happy and involved in the community.

For a pricier crowd there is the planned community of Charbonneau in Wilsonville. Charbonneau Country Club
