My impression was also that you had a good attitude about your choices. I interpreted your little defense of "Lost Wages" as meaning that it had its good points even tho you are ready for a big change in a home. Seems like a healthy outlook.

I so agree about having to hole up in 115 degree weather - dry or not, that is enervatingly hot. If it is cold, you can just add more clothing and get active. Not much besides sitting in water when it is that hot.

Thanks, I do feel like a have a healthy outlook. I am not desperate to leave, but just about everyone who lives here considers moving. I came here from Sedona, Arizona. That was a huge change, but I needed a good job. now that my work has said I can telecommute, I want to do it before they change their mind! I love the idea of telecommuting and the freedom that goes with that.

Just want to say thanks to everyone. This has been fun and I think I have my question answered. I hope to find a place in the S.E. I'll check back for a few days if anyone wants to add more.

Default We just moved to oregon from vegas in Nov...

you will love it here. We were in Henderson for six years. I couldn't wait to get my kids out of that city. Although, it does have its positives, I feel oregon is so much more of what I want for my childrens childhood memories. So far the weather has not gotten to us. I was ready for some rain!! Feel free to shoot any questions my way!

Thanks so much, I need to hear the reinforcement because it is a little scary to move. I can't wait till May, I hope I can have a place lined up to move into.

For the ladies interesting in moving to Portland, I think you will love it here considering the things you listed that you were looking for. There are lots of Farmer's Markets, so many interesting neighborhoods and plenty to do. I am expecting a baby in June, but I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying my first summer living in Portland! My husband and I just moved here a couple of months ago and love it. Although we had been planning it for a while and had family here. Also, my husband grew up in western wa, so he was already used to the weather. The weather during between Nov. and April is something to definitely brace yourself for. However, the past few weeks have actually been nice and its late Feb., go figure. Personally, I don't mind the rain and overcast, but I know some are sensitive to it.
