You do realize she will be called Ee-Marie all her life don't you? Why do parents do this to children. Not only are you giving her an odd name, then you make it worse by giving it a unique spelling that no one will be able to remember and she will be called the wrong name all of her life .
If you go with Emoreigh she will be Ee More Ree
Yup, I agree. Just go with Emmie/Emma. I don't even particularly like either name. Be kind to your kid.
Ah puh. I am never sentimental. But in this one I say your kid will have the name that you name her. My brother could not spell his middle name until he was like 8. (It was a family name.) Everyone loved his name, weird and all. Love the kid, love the name. Do what you like.
It just boggles my mind why people insist on using unusual spellings on names. Guess what - it doesnt make your child any more unique just because their name is spelled stupidly.
Then again, this is coming from someone who named their child "Andrew". Maybe I should have done it Ahnd-rew.
Emorie would at least get her called something close.
You could get jiggy with it and spell it "Imory"- "Imorie"
She's going to have to explain it anyway, might as well be super creative.

I'm right with ya, my sons name is Sam. But he prefers the complicated version of Sammy.
I agree w/ all of you. Our DS is Lucas, MIL's maiden name. He was named for his great uncle who passed way too early, w/ the last name of Lucas. Many in the family said they wanted to name a boy Lucas, we finally did it. &, kicker, I'm the IL, it was MY idea. lol But, he STILL gets it spelled LUCUS. I swear, some people are 'braindead'. We used the 'normal' spelling, like the surname. Idiots.
Our 2nd, I toyed w/ Emmaleigh, but, we both only agreed on Isabella (yes, common, but, we didn't know that in 2004, w/ 2003 findings to go on) . We call her Bella. We called her that before Twilight (I hate it, BTW) . We've called her Isabella, Isabelle, Belle, Bella, Izzy, Izzy-B. lol Or, 'pet' names, like BooBird, Boo-Da. lol
We have alot of unique names in my DD's class, but, they are 'Utah' names, so, not outlandish. lol I haven't seen 'odd' spellings in my DD or DS's classes.
I know some will be critical (those who use 'different' spellings, why do I look, care, etc. None of the above, I'm always just curious on names. =) . I'm just analytical (sp?) to a fault. lol
