I don't know what you mean by "outer Phoenix". Are you looking for two different places? Outer Phoenix (outskirts of Phoenix, if that's what you mean) and Prescott are a long way apart.

Williamson, AZ; just a bit above Prescott...below a bit of Chino Valley. It's HORSE country big time and beautiful. Plenty of horse properties I am sure...as for rentals...?? BUT take a drive on 89N.

cheers....

Generally, if you want a horse property (whether rental or purchase), you're looking in the following areas (in order from closest to furthest away from Prescott):

Williamson Valley
Coyote Springs (essentially Prescott Valley - North of 89A and east of Viewpoint)
Chino Valley
Dewey-Humboldt
Paulden

I don't know if there's some sort of rental horse property digest/website - I'd think you'd go about it the same way you would a regular rental - find properties and ask. If they aren't in the above areas and aren't fenced with acreage, you could obviously avoid them.

With four horses, I'd imagine it's too expensive to board them, but that is also an option if you can't find the right property.

Of all of the areas above, my preference would be a Williamson Valley property, as I would think it would provide the greatest opportunity for easy trail riding without having to put horses in a trailer to get somewhere.

Good luck!

Deb I know someone that is renting a beautiful home with a barn, and guest house on 40 acres in Williamson Valley in Long Meadow Subdivision. It would not be cheap as that is upper end properties. But if that is something you are interested in send me a message and I will get you the contact information.
