How do you pronounce Prescott? I hear most locals call it 'Preskit', however since I'm not native to the area I call it Prescott as in 'hot' similar to Scottsdale or Scottbluff, NE.

I have been in AZ most of my life. It has always been Preskit/kut to me. We moved up here in 2001. In that time "natives" have told me that kit/kut it correct; but, if you run into some of the town "elders" they will say it is Prescott (cot). Very interesting. The historian in me wonders what sourcing there is and that surely the "truth" can be discovered, the the busy professional in me says that will have to wait
