Ah, one of those refreshing moments when a Jet fan agrees with a Patriot fan. All throughout the first half, it seemed that the commentators on TV were gushing "Tony Romo this...Tony Romo that..." continuously. They were doing their best to turn it into the Tony Romo Show. What they needed--no, let me take that back--what they deserved, was to have the Jets come back and win the game.

If Tony Romo was even half of what the Dallas publicity machine wants us to believe, it would have been no contest, and a big win for them into the bargain. Who would have imagined...you actually have to go out there and play the game against the other team. Victories aren't handed to you by press releases.

See what I mean?

Yeah, I'm a Cowboys fan and I agree that Tony Romo is and has been overrated for a long time. He might be the most physically talented quarterback the franchise has ever had, but being talented and being a winner are two entirely different things.

Romo is often good for three quarters. The problem is that he falls apart in big games and at the worst times. I don't know why, but ever since I first saw this guy getting hyped up in the media, I've just had this feeling that he was never the guy. When you look at Brady, Rodgers, and Manning, they look composed and mature almost from the beginning...like you knew it was just a matter of time before they succeeded in big games and won championships. I've never seen that same look in Tony Romo. He strikes me as a pampered wanna-be who'd rather be spending time on twitter and out on the town with hot dates. It's like he should be dating one of the Kardashian sisters or something. I just don't see him winning a big playoff game, let alone a Super Bowl.

I know that's harsh commentary, but the bottom line is, if you're going to get the hype he's been getting, he has to win it in the biggest moments. Last night, as I was watching, I kept thinking, this is Romo's game, and this is Romo's team now. No more excuses. Either he gets it done or he doesn't. Well, he didn't get it done. He's fortunate in that Dallas is a very talented team and he will probably get a few more chances to prove himself. But one more meltdown like that again, and I think Dallas may start looking for someone else.

On the bright side of things, I think the defense played really well under Ryan. I was kinda worried how they'd adjust with the absence of Wade Phillips, who *is* a good defensive coach even if he's not a great head coach. Also, I like Jason Garrett's approach to the team. I think he's got a good energy and the Cowboys feed off of that. I think he's a guy that players and even Jerry Jones respects. He's still under Jones' thumb, but I think Jones might give him some additional rope - for a while anyway. I think the players see that he wants to win and I think they believe in his way of doing things.

Fumble and a pick. Romo is a liability to the team.
