How do you know he could have gotten the same money? And why does it matter? He chose to stay with SF. So now the gamble they took ended up having zero downside. They took their shot at Manning and ended up exactly where they were before.

Well I found out the stupid Dolphins took David Garrad instead of ALex Smith which is why he signed back with the Niners.

That should tell you one of two things. Either they didn't offer Smith enough money or they thought that poorly of him.

How could any team think poorly of him after the way he played in the playoffs?

Perhaps you should take this as a sign that you are over estimating his abilities.

Alex Smith is probably wondering what else he has to do to show people he is the real deal.

We've had this discussion way too many times, he is a QB, yes, but not elite, not a top 10, just an average QB, that makes some great plays sometimes.

There is no comparison between the Dolphins and 49ers right now, Alex had his drawers in a knot, he was in a snit so to speak and when he really thinks about it seriously, 49ers is the place to be for him.

the Niners understood... and obviously so did Alex.

In the end, Alex put his emotions aside and acted like a professional and made the correct decision.

Wow, Tebow goes to the Jets, amazing! I am glad he isn't coming to the Packers but am surprised about the Jets. I thought it would be a Florida team.

With all you hear about the Jets lockerroom, boy, scarey throwing Tebow in there.
