Both the jets and giants are New York based teams that play in Jersey. Without the name bame they wouldnt be as big. Plus both teams started in NY, played in NY and Giants have played in NY for t least 50 years
Jersey is right across the water and it's all just imaginary statelines seperating us. Plus there are a ton of people that go to work in Manhattan and are from Jersey.
Dont think its an issue, we can all root for the teams.
teams represent metro areas, not cities. And the Jersey shores of the Hudson are as NY metro every bit as much as Westchester or LI. More, when you consider how close in they are to Manhattan.
that's why nobody considers the Arlington Cowboys to be America's team
The Packers don't play in Milwaukee. Is that what you meant to imply?
Yeah... maybe a few teams don't play in the city they're from, but at least they play in the same STATE! The Jets & Giants are traitors to NY and should be treated as such!

This thread was 7 years dead. New Jersey built them a stadium, NYC did not. It's not like they moved too far. Can't you see Manhatten from the Meadowlands lot?

Sorry, that makes zero sense.
Obviously, the primary market of the Jets and Giants is the New York (city) metropolitan area, which extends beyond the state of New York and into New Jersey and Connecticut - and not some far-flung upstate cities hundreds of miles away (even though they in, as you would say, the 'same STATE!').

Damn right. And the Dodgers and Giants play their home games way out west. Brooklyn and Coogan's Bluff fans are pissed about that, I'll bet, because you know how mad the Dodgers' fans were when they played a few home games a year across the river in Jersey City.
The Jets were going to build a new stadium in Manhattan a few years ago, and that whole thing fell apart. Didnt the Knicks owner have something to do with that?
