I would probably have the both Giants teams ranked 14th and 15th. I think both the '13 Seahawks and '14 Patriots probably belong in the top 6. The '05 and '08 steelers i would move down a couple spots each. I would probably swap the Saints with Colts.
I agree. This last years Patriots team was arguably their best championship team. Brady was nowhere near as good as he is now back in 01-04. And the Seahawks team from '13 may have been even better that this years Patriots team.
A few notes:
Pats #1 because of number 4, the hate, legacies, the game itself, the ending - probably the best SB ever.
Seahawks #2 because of their dominance the entire year, and the stamp of a blowout.
Ravens #5 was an impressive defensive year for the team.
Saints with the whole Katrina thing - great story
Colts - Manning finally getting his ring
Giants #9 - I think for the year the team was mediocre at best but peaked at the right time. And blowing up a historic undefeated team in the manner in which they did - classic
I was never impressed with either Steelers victories. Sure, maybe the bias gets in here.
You guys are totally funny, and you're right about the taxes part! I guess being a Packers fan and knowing they won after the 2010 season, and the last teams that won, I figured it was just a list! I'm a smarty pants, I know but it says in order!
I pretty much agree with metalman, the last 2 super bowls would be 1 and 2. I am not a Seahawks fan, not in the least but what they have accomplished you cannot ignore. Brady and the Pats didn't take an easy route this year and he didn't have the best supporting cast either.
Not sure what you mean by supporting cast. He had a bunch of decent RBs throughout the year, a better defense than before, and quality receivers (e.g., Edelman over that drop machine Welker). This may have been the best of the 4 Patriots SB teams, but no one will ever convince me that it's the hard route to get the bye in a fairly easy division and only have one tough playoff game (at home) to get to the SB instead of being road warriors like Green Bay, New York, or Baltimore.

Maybe just from a division standpoint and the regular season road, I could agree. But when you add in all of the other story lines, whether they are earned on the hash marks or just in the minds of the fans, I think each Super Bowl looks different. I honestly don't believe there is any long-termed historical story-line more than the Pats winning this year (#4, hate, legacies, dynasty). It would have made for a great movie. The Hawks winning last year was earned in the NFC against tough teams. And blowing out Denver the way they did was such an exclamation point. It was defense wins championships in its purist form. For me personally, it's so easy to put those two games above the ones you mentioned, because outside the lines, I think the teams stories you mentioned are somewhat boring. Especially the Giants playing so crappy most of the year, only to back into the playoffs and play a few really good games. I mean really, Eli? Please
But again, the debate and feelings are in the eye of the beholder.
