I've been doing my best to follow this since it's outset.
From what I have gathered, I find it difficult to believe they will find any substantial evidence to directly implicate the Patriots. What clouded this whole thing was premature media leaks, ever changing stories, and supposed thoughts (not sure if any evidence) of potential tampering by the Ravens and Colts. I mean really - 12 balls under inflated by 2 PSI, then only 1 ball, and then it being the ball the Colts had in their possession. I am assuming IF the NFL is actually still conducting their investigation, they are studying tapes from the opposition sidelines and interviewing to see if in fact there was tampering on that side of the ball.
The NFL has mucked this up big time. As a Patriots fan, regardless of the findings, I just wanted it over and done with, guilty or not (which I believe the latter to be mostly true). Now that the Patriots won the Super Bowl, the implications of the NFL pointing the finger of blame at their companies current poster child would be huge.

I fully agree the media blew it out of the gate with unsubstantiated (or at least weak) leak after leak. But that withstanding - the NFL, the Corporation, the Entity - it's their job to handle adversity internally and externally. Any Company has to deal with it's employees and internal matters. Knowing full well the enormous size of the NFL in the business world and beyond, they have botched this by not keeping the outside world informed. If this is such a big deal, it should be handled as such.
What I found ironic with the whole investigation was out it criminalized the Patriots (without proof), but largely ignored the Seahawks. They essentially hold on every play, much more than any other team. Their defensive guys are good, but this provided them with an unfair advantage. Unfortunately, the refs have not been able/willing to call this on every play.
I find the proven evidence (its all on videotape) of cheating all the time by the Seahawks much worse than the potential (not proven) violation by the Patriots.
There is nothing for the NFL to apologize for. The Pat's clearly had football that were underinflated during the game. The same balls were properly inflated when the officials checked them prior to the game.
With the track record of the Patriots with cheating, it's an easy assumption to think something may have occured.

You are no better then the media that prematurely leaked information. Have you followed the entire story? If so, you are still clueless, because a lot of things have come out since the initial leak that could point fingers elsewhere.
Plus, anyone who rides the coat tails of the cheating Pats hasn't done their research to understand Spygate, other teams, etc.
