Please forgive me mods if this thread is already out here; I can't find it...
The AFC North will be up for grabs until the final days. Roethlisberger's injury just made this a wide open race to the crown...
I still favor Pittsburgh, but they are only up a game with Ben out 4-6 weeks. They have a bye next week; I see a best case scenario of 3-2 in the next 5 games, which would make them 7-4 if Ben misses all of that time. That's a best case scenario, though--that defense is inconsistent and I can easily envision them losing more than two games...
The Ravens and Bengals don't inspire a ton of confidence but the oppurtunity is there for one of them to slide into first by Roethlisberger's predicted return on 12/4. I still think Cincinnati can turn it on; they have the talent. I think the more likely scenario is December starts with a 2-team tie at first in the North. If that happens, the pressure on Pittsburgh to seal this division could become a very big burden...
Poor Browns. Anybody wanna predict a)who they'll beat for their first win, and b)how many games they'll win this year, and c)who they take #1 overall in April?
A) I'll say 2
B) Jets. I figured Tennessee was their last best chance for a win since they don't play the Bears or Jaguars this year, but looking at the schedule they play both the New York teams at home with the Jets being a collassal dumpster fire. They also play the Chargers at home in week 16, I think they may sneak that as well.
C) With how much the league is turning into a QB league, and you have a team that hasn't had a steady QB since they returned to the league, you go out and you draft the best one available.....that's Deshaun Watson of Clemson.
