A coin toss and a convincing march down the field all the way into the end zone. If the "old" overtime rules were in effect and they'd won by kicking a field goal, I'd agree with you. But if you put it in the end zone on your first possession, IMO you've earned your overtime win.

Like I said before, you can't just assume what would happen in the most important game of the year. The other team AT THE VERY LEAST deserves a chance on offense once. Things can get heated real quick in sports and assuming they wouldn't score isn't good enough.

They had a chance to be on offense once but their defense failed to deliver it.

We all know WEEI would be singing a different tune tomorrow if the tables were turned.

The Falcons have an excellent offense. It should be equaled out in OT. Each team should get to play their offense and defense at least once.

Even though my Pats won, I agree about OT. Both teams should be guaranteed one touch.

I agree that a full quarter would be more fair & exciting -- maybe a good rule for the superbowl and possibly the playoffs. It's too much for regular season.

Why would anyone complain. It's the agreed upon rule and has been for a long time. Those who would complain probably wanted an election do-over without the electoral college.

I agree. While it's better than it used to be, I wonder why they stopped short of getting rid of any perceived advantage when they modified the rule in what, 2010?

Did anyone really feel this game was over when it was 28-3? I certainly didn't. If the score was the same and the teams were reversed, yep, game over. But this is the Falcons, and their defense was suspect going in. And they had to face Belicheck and Brady in the second half. I had a feeling that the record for coming back from the largest deficit and winning a S.B. (10 pts.) was about to be obliterated.

Greatest. Choke. Ever.

Now more than ever I could care less what the Pats and Brady haters have to say. Say cheat, use asterisks, whatever eases your pain. This New England Patriots team on this incredible 17 year run winning this Super Bowl in the fashion they did, with Brady leading the Pats on 2 scoring drives and two 2-pt conversions in the 4th Qtr, and then getting the ball in OT and cementing the legacy with a TD drive in the first ever SB OT.

The New England Patriots - best dynasty in the history of the NFL
Tom Brady - the greatest QB in NFL history

Story over.

Good. Now can he retire, so the other 31 teams can get a chance to win??
