haha, smart man. i also think the 3rd receiver issue with the bengals is overblown. chris henry was always suspended, so how much time did we really have with a great 3rd guy? ben utecht should relieve a lot of the double teams, especially if they come out the first 2 games firing over the middle. teams will adjust, and then adjust to getting beat over the top by chad and t.j.
I think the Bengals have a solid shot. BTW, I'm a woman.
I will say that we will miss Chris Henry when we play the Steelers. They couldn't cover him.
true, but we have ben utecht to stretch the middle and perry catching in the flat. how many times do you see teams with good receiving tight ends WIDE OPEN over the middle? if the bengals can run the ball, a lot of the 3rd receiver issues won't seem nearly as big.
i was reading MNF's take on the bengals, and jaworski thinks the bengals should surprise people. tirico was still crying about the arrests and chad, and claiming our window is shut, locked, and has more bars on it than a walnut hills corner store. i really hope jaws is right and we shut up all of the naysayers that see us going 6-10. 6-10? LMAO.
defense was aggressive, looked fast and seemed to be in the right playcalls
offense got it going in 2nd quarter
only 17 points scored allowed, including only 7 in the 2nd half against reserves
the bad....
the offense stalled badly in the first quarter
too many drops
poor tackling
the annoying....
espn says - aaron rodgers, brett favre, aaron rodgers, brett favre, aaron rodgers....did they actually play a football game last night, or was it just rodgers on a green screen?
I was generally pleased with the effort, but seriously, they better be going through some major tackling drills this week. It's just the first preseason game, but whiffing on tackles like they did last night should not be happening.

it looked bad, but if i hadn't played in a game situation in 8 and a half months, i'd look rusty too. i think zimmer's emphasis on being fast and aggressive distracted some of the finishing technique on tackling. what was very encouraging was the few blown assignments. except david jones, the guys were there, they just couldn't wrap up all the time. it's easier to get guys to tackle than to get the mental process of assignments to become fluid.

Maybe the rookies, but Marvin White is more concerned with ripping someone's head off as opposed to tackling him. He should know better.
