Well that's true unless the Jets punk the Colts. If that happens, then it will look like the Colts shot themselves in the foot... with a Colt .45 no less.

Had they beat the Jets and knocked them out of the playoffs, maybe somehow the Colts draw the Broncos for the AFC Championship game instead and we all know what would happen there.

So, if the Colts beat the Jets, this is all a moot point because would you rather go into SB XLIV and just win the thing or go into it at 18-0 and pull a Clam Chowder?

Seeing how there were a pair of 9-7 teams that didnt (AFC) make the playoffs and the Ortons finished at 8-8, I think that would be somewhat difficult. And thats ignoring the lolness of them winning two playoff games.

If the Colts beat the Jets, I would bet they would be playing the Houston Texans this week. The way the Chargers played yesterday, they were not going to beat anyone.

Whether it is the Jets or Texans, doesn't matter. The Colts have to show up and take care of business.

The Colt's offense will be facing the #1 defense in the league.

I'm looking forward to another Jets-Colts championship game, 40 years after the first

I'm sorry about the way this is gonna sound.... I know we've all tried to be cautious and humble about the game coming up but I gotta put the moose on the table. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF REX RYAN!!! That dude needs to stop yapping, he went from confident to obnoxious and very annoying. I hope the Colts come out and catch fire right in his pie hole and wipe "that" look off his face!!!

Woooooo... I feel better now!

Yeah but let him keep going with his blow hard routine...only adds fuel to the fire for the Colts.

As a New Yorker and a Jets fan, I'll let you in on a tiny little secret about Rex Ryan: he's been serving the same purpose as Casey Stengel did for the early-day Mets. His public yapping is more of an act than anything else, consciously designed to deflect media pressure from our rookie quarterback. The sicker you are of his act, the better he's been doing it! Watch the public posturing fade away next season.

And to Burdell, who commented on a Jets-Colts playoff matchup after 40 years...there's nothing like a generous portion of history thrown into the mix, isn't there? (Wouldn't it be something if Namath and Unitas did the coin toss?)

I disagree, Rex Ryan is just like his dad. Big Fat Loud Mouth who thinks his sh it dont stink. Here is a dude thats so "smart", he thought his football team was already eliminated from the playoffs a few weeks back. Are you serious?

Hard to do given that Unitas is dead.
