Nope it usually does not work this way, ask the Raiders, the 2007 Cardinals, The last 2009 Colts, they usually lose heart and go thru years of embarrassment.
My theory is they need a shakeup, and with that, they won't be as good immediately. But if they do it and do it RIGHT, it could pay big dividends a year or two in the future. Oh, and though this may seem obvious, they NEED serious development of a high-grade future QB ASAP. Peyton could be like Aaron Rodgers who got knocked out for 7 games. The Packers didn't face his vulnerability and paid HUGELY for that oversight.
Free agent signing is in the offing (can't tell you the exact timing). So that raises a question that I'm sure will get most Broncomaniacs hooting. Do you suppose Peyton would take a pay cut if it allowed his front office to sign a couple of bruisers to keep physical defenses off his body? He'd be less tense if he knew his O-line was handing out the punishment, not just taking it!

Hmmm.... The Cardinals lost players who went after the big money post-Super Bowl, then they lost Kurt after he was hit because of the bounty that was put on his head by the Saints, then Peyton signed with the Broncos instead of the Cardinals........then they lost heart.
The transplant was performed when Bruce Arians was hired.

Unrelated to Broncos, but Arizona might be a speed bump for the Niners AND the Hawks.
The Broncos should be ashamed, embarrassed, humiliated and disgusted about their performance on Sunday. I have never seen such inept play in a Super Bowl in my 50 years. It is much better to not get to the Super Bowl if you are going to get there and then collapse on the first play. Astonishing. I could not believe what I was watching. I am sure that the rest of the NFL was in shock as well. I am sure that Bill Belichik was choking on his nachos and thinking to himself, "my boys would not have choked like this". And he's likely right.
John Fox should be fired. That collapse is 99% on the coaching.

By the time the Broncos reload, Manning will be too old to lead them any where.
Fox didn't snap the ball off Peyton's helmet. For SOME reason, there were Broncos players who were acting extremely nervous. Shouldn't even be snapping the ball if you can make that big a mistake.
