Allen with his 3rd fourth quarter comeback win today. He looks like a franchise QB in the making to me. Like that he only took one sack today too. No turnovers and two Tds. All with a bunch of young no name receivers. Him and Foster are starting to get a nice connection too. The future looks bright.

No doubt about it. I love Josh Allen. He still does things that make me crazy sometimes, but damn if he isn't fun to watch. He is all heart. Glad I finally got to see the Bills win in the game I went to this year, but damn if it wasn't the Matt Barkley start.

Don't forget we are playing some of the worst teams in the league. I am still undecided about Allen. He is a quantum improvement over many that have come before him but if he cannot pass accurately the league will quickly catch up to him. He only got 16 yards rushing against the Lions. He is still fun to watch though and at least there is hope for the future.

We have to remember that Allen was considered the biggest project in the draft. And until he came back from injury I thought it looked like the game was too fast for him at this level. But since coming back it looks like the game has slowed down a lot for him. He doesn't look like he doesn't belong at this level.

Lets see him against a good team before we get carried away. We played against teams with a combined 20-36 records the last 5 games. Jets, Lions, Jags and Dolphins are not elite teams this year, not even everage.

Two of those defenses are above average. Jags have a top five defense I think. I just love that he has improved his game from his initial starts before injury to his starts after. He was taking sacks left and right before the injury.

Allen has shown shades of a franchise QB of the future. You have to remember, with very rare exceptions (see Patrick Mahomes) do good and great quarterbacks do well in their rookie seasons. Joe Montana went 2-14 in his first season with the 49ers, Peyton Manning was 3-13 with the Colts in '98. Even Jim Kelly's first season in '86 was a disaster with only 4 wins and a change at head coach mid-season (from Hank Bullough to Marv Levy) By '88 though, the Bills won 11 of their first 12 and locked the AFC East in Week 12 with a win over the Jets that was more known for the fans storming the field and tearing down the goal posts. It'll be interesting to see what the Bills do this offseason to strengthen the offensive line and receiving core around Allen through either the draft or free agency and trades. Next season could be a breakout year for the Buffalo Bills.

Jags had a top five defense. Not any more. They have no QB and are in freefall.

I thought they were top five when the Bills played them.
