Nothing could be worse than than blabbing away during a moment of silense and the playing of "Taps" for our fallen soldiers. This happened during the pregame between the Jets and the Bills.Get this guy off the air - he's a disgrace to humanity.
I mean how many TV viewers are respectful when the national anthem plays, how many actually stand in their living rooms and cross their hand across their chests
I doubt Phil Simms meant any disrespect, they don't always show the moment of silence thing on TV. If it was meant to be shown on TV I'm almost certain Simms would have been quiet.
I guess you can make the point that even if it wasn't meant for TV that he should have taken a moment of silence to, but if he had an obligation to speak on camera at the time which is more than likely what happened, then it's not Phil's fault, it's the fault of CBS.
I really can't believe the responses here stand up for Simms actions. This was not the National Anthem which I realize some people do not respect. This occured on T.V. and I'll bet money that he didn't "have" to speak during the moment of silence and the playing of Taps.Granted we are free to do as we please, but that freedom comes from those that have sacraficed there lives for that freedom (and I'm not just talking about the Iraq War).At least he could have given those soldiers the respect that they deserve. You can't give ANY excuse for not taking time to observe and be silent.
