Maybe its not GM and Chrysler that need a bailout in Detroit....maybe some of the laid-off autoworkers could be signed by the Lions, maybe they would have won a game...

I saw a fan holding up a sign similar to Geico commercials, it said : "0-16, it's so easy even the Lions can do it" !! I thought that was great!

Default Icing on the massacre of a season....

Today, Rod Marinelli, head coach of the Detroit Lions, was fired for turning in his perfectly defeated season....

Here is the link - ESPN - Rod Marinelli's ouster follows Detroit Lions' 0-16 season

Couldn't happen to a better team. Even though I am a die-hard Tigers fan and live in Michigan, I despise the Lions. Now, if I could get to see the Cowboys match this stunning feat of uselessness on a football field before I die, I could die with a smile on my face. Doubt that is going to happen though, they are a pretty good team (as much as it pains me to say that ).

I bet Matt Millen is laughing his ass off. I've always liked the Lions but I'm sure glad that I'm not a full-time fan at the moment! Seeing the Jets miss the playoffs was enough pain for one year.

The next question is...what will the Lions do in the draft? (Or maybe it should be phrased as, where do they begin?)

Well, what's amazing to me is that they didn't completely clean house today to start over fresh. They promoted some "in-house" people to President and GM roles within the organization to hire a new coach, what the heck is that? I would think that after a season like this, you'd fire everybody and start completely fresh, I guess not according to Mr. Ford Sr. There is a reason they've consistently sucked for 50 years! It's the ownership that sucks, it all starts on the top and floats down, right?

Isnt it odd that last year a team goes 16-0 for the first time ever, and then the next another team goes 0-16? Whats for next season? a team with a losing record gets into the playoffs? has that ever happened?

Coach: Mangini
QB: Cassel (?), Brady(?????), Draft Pick (more than likely)
GM:They hire Millen back (Here's the screw up)
At least they'll have a decent draft and improve some.
