The Haier HNSB02 1.7 Cu-Ft Refrigerator/Freezer is an ideal option for people who want the convenience of a mini-refrigerator without sacrificing the ability to store frozen items.
With an MSRP of 69.99, the fact that it includes a freezer component makes it very competitively priced, since many refrigeration-only units are sold at higher prices.
Its 1-2/3-cubic-foot capacity allows for convenient storage of full sized items, although the need to save space is never compromised. Due to smart design features such as the recessed door handle, it is perfectly suited for tight spaces such as college dorm rooms. The half-width freezer section includes an ice cube tray, allowing users to have ice on hand at all times. The slide out shelf spans the width of the device, allowing for excellent storage capabilities. Additionally, two wire shelves inside the door allow for expanded storage capabilities. The wire shelves are so well designed that users can rely upon them to store an array of twenty ounce bottles, along with a two liter soda bottle.
One feature that is unique when compared with other brands is the inclusion of a reversible door. This allows the unit to be opened from either the right or left side, depending on convenience.
However, it is not without some faults. It is very noisy and could be potentially distracting if used in an environment where a quiet ambiance is praised, such as an office. However, for those who can work through anything, the noise aspect might not be discouraging.
Lastly, a more noticeable aspects is that it does not feel as sturdy as similar models. It should be expected to last for at least a year, but at this price, one should not expect resilience beyond that.
