Review of Damon Daybreak Motorhome (store, reviews, carpet, purchase)

Three summers ago we bought our very first motorhome. We purchased a 36-foot, 2008 Damon Daybreak for casual use. Our cost was approximately $85,000.00 for the model with the bunk beds.
It has a nice off-white leather sofa bed couch, and the driver's seat and passenger seat are the same off-white leather. There is a swivel chair that is cloth and the dinette benches are made with removable cloth cushions. All the kitchen cabinets are made of oak, there are day/night shades on all the windows plus valances, the living room and cockpit area of the motorhome are carpeted, the rest is linoleum. It has a queen size bed with storage beneath, and two bunk beds. There are three televisions, one at the front, one in the bedroom, and another in the hallway adjacent to the bunk beds. The bathroom is three-piece with a small closet for towels and another storage area beneath the sink. The fridge is a good size and can hold enough food for a few days when there is just the two of us.
There is lots of storage inside and outside so we never lack space to store any of the items that we bring with us on our trips. The leveling can be done electronically or manually - whichever method you prefer.
The layout is nice and when the two slides are out, it is very roomy which is especially good for us as we travel with four large dogs. When the slides are closed, as in when on the road, all the rooms are accessible, including the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom which is very convenient.
The gas mileage is not very good but that is a standard and to be expected with all types of motorhomes. It is not the quietest motorhome when on the road; there are lots of "shakes, rattles and rolls." The window slides and locks do not work as well as they could, it can be very tricky to get the windows in a locked position - if at all. It is not all that efficient on the cooler days of spring and fall. We usually have to put the heat on, especially at night. There is not enough counter space in the kitchen. When cooking, you need to juggle the dishes and pots from one location to another. The table usually comes in handy for this.
Overall, the Damon Daybreak is not too bad for the cost. There are some things that they could improve on but it is one of the cheaper models of motorhome and not meant to be used as a full-time camping vehicle. When we are ready to move to full-time traveling, we will purchase a higher quality motorhome.
