Austin Air HealthMate HM-400 air purifier

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The Austin Air HealthMate HM-400 air purifier is virtually the perfect air purifier. It is very powerful and very efficient and effective, having the ability to purify the air of up to 1,500 feet, which is incredible. It has the potential to remove up to 99% of pollutants and random air particles, along with filters that extinguish odor and gasses. it also has a 5 year warranty in case of any mishaps or issues with the filters or mechanics of the air purifier - many offer none at all, or a year warranty at the most.

The filter has four parts - a HEPA filter and a carbon filter, along with two pre filters. The filter is constructed purely of steel, making it quite bulky and heavy, perhaps it's only real flaw. However, due to this, it also has wheels, allowing you to take it from room to room. It's very effective, clearing all kinds of pollutants, particles, dander and odors.

The Austin Air HealthMate HM-400 has three different speed settings. The highest settings obviously help you clear out a room the quickest, but can get a tad bit noisy. In about 20 minutes, the purifier can clear out a large bedroom almost entirely. It is also quite quiet considering it's power and the noise compared to other models - if this is an issue for you, you've met your match.

The one issue with this air purifier is it's overall appearance and how it may change the aesthetics of your home. It's not very streamlined, and is actually a bit awkward and bulky in appearance, which may be an issue for some customers. To offset this, you do have the choice between four different colors and finishes, including white, black, silver and sandstone.
